Gosh it's so slow I guess we all quit collecting

:111:

I don't know about you but I grabbed a couple of historical gems:

a MS62 1786 double Louis D'Or - and a 1348 Venice Ducat in darn it AU58.

I usually grab only MS but it's harder when it's almost 700 years old - it really is!

HS, there are still some collectors out there but they just collect different types of silver and gold coins and bars.

You have good taste, HS. Bullion be damned, you can't go wrong with the classics, and those two coins are fine specimens, indeed. Well done!

I'd be a liar if I said I weren't a little jealous. :D

Oh, you can't go wrong with BULLION coins too. I have a couple of those - just a few thou... oops, though.

:111::111::111:

I just LOVE the old Saints - BUT that new UHR 2009 "ain't" no cheesy coin either!

Best wishes to you,

And a little advice (don't tell anybody else! :ok:) I think that some of the GOLD SOVEREIGNS (from around the world) are sleepers. Buy raw and set up a account with ANACS NGC PCGS and send in the ones that LOOK really MS63and up. That way you can buy near MELT BID BULLION type and start to have a fine little collection.

Canada South Africa India Austrailia England kinda says it all. A world collection at melt buy in - trade at a heck of a premium later - and they look good too. Last December I took 20 of them in my belt to Greek Islands and rome Athens etc. I was like an REAL OLD James Bond - but I wanted a way to get home if the Euro flopped!

Down the road they will go up 5,000 percent IMVHO - and they are only about a forth of an ounce price - be smart. Be as sharp as a serpent and as humble as a dove - and you'll be in fine fine shape. :36_3_12:

Uh, what about some pics? It's the next best thing for those of us on the sidelines.

Sad to say, I think I wasted all of my numi posts in the UHRDE thread. I just don't have much to say any more regarding numi pieces.

Ah yes you do - wait till the US Mint announces (I'm of course guessing - or speculating and that's not really the best thing to do!) halting of the UHR 2009 due to lack of BLANKS.

Then you'll look like this fellow -:23_30_104::23_30_104::23_30_104::signs14:

That's going to be fun trying to get this old brain around the camera and transfering it - where is TOM D. when I need him?

Haha, that's definitely a possibility HS. Isn't the program supposed to end at the end of the year?

HS.
Bought 12 Morgans (commondate ms64+), 1878 $10 (ms65) and a bunch of half dimes over the weekend.
All below spot.

Getting difficult to find deals.

Dumb luck.
The only thinking was the internal dialogue " don't screw this up" over and over.

Will post scans when i have a few minutes.

LOL I'd hit it

...with a baseball bat!

I bought one, stinking, cheap coin this month, that's it.
If David Hall and the PCGS loser/gainer report is correct, the
numi market has peaked and is now in decline.
